Depending on the region, hail and wind coverage can be the largest factor of a grower’s risk management plan. Our agents review several combinations of possibilities for your operation.

There are many types of hail policies available to growers through private insurance providers.

Hail Production Plans

Hail Production Plans (HPP) have been a great option for numerous producers over the years. HPP considers a producers production at the end of the crop year when paying the hail and/or wind losses. ASA agents will review with the producer to determine if a hail production plan would be a good fit for your operation.

Crop-Hail

Producers have the option to choose from many different crop-hail policies that feature different deductible levels ranging from 0% up to 20%. ASA agents present options that complement a producers’ MPCI coverage. ASA agents also present different options based on the location of farms and risk of a hail event. All crop-hail policies have the option of adding wind coverage to cover losses due to wind damage.

Grain Fire

A grain fire policy covers you for anything such as a hot bearing on a combine, fireworks during wheat harvest, lighting strike or the cigarette thrown out a window by a passing vehicle. This added coverage is an inexpensive security that will cover beyond what your MPCI and hail policies offer. Crop Fire gives you peace of mind knowing that your crop is covered from the unexpected.
